The International English Language Testing System is the world’s top English Proficiency test with the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge English Language Assessment as its administrators. The IELTS test stands as the solo UK visa and immigration-approved Secure English Language Test.
It has two types:
Academic test: designed for individuals who wish to acquire higher education abroad.
General Training test: ideal for people who want to work or migrate to an English-speaking country or who want to test their English skills.
Both versions of the test will have four modules, namely, reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The listening and speaking modules of both versions are identical but there is a significant distinction in the other two modules that are reading and writing. The test is three hours long which includes 15 minutes of reading time.
The reading, writing and listening modules are tested in the same test. However, one can schedule the speaking module test one week before or after the three-hour long test.
